Pier rebuild is complete!

We are very pleased to announce that the rebuilding of our pier is complete. Custom Float Services began construction on March 6 and the crew of four have worked steadily, chasing the tide as they hold to their plan to have the pier rebuilt no later than April 15. The 82’x24’ pier maintains its commercial identity with improvements that support accessibility.

We would like to offer a very special thank you to all who gave generously to our fall and winter Pier Rebuild appeals, raising more than $200,000! And we are thrilled to share that on March 13 we received word from the State of Maine Department of Economic and Community Development that our application was determined to meet the required criteria for a $100,000 Maine Business Recovery and Resilience Fund Grant for the rebuilding. Forty businesses and non-profit organizations impacted by the 2024 January 10 storm or January 13 storm received funding for recovery, rebuilding, and investment in more resilient infrastructure. We are honored to be one of 7 to receive the highest amount granted in this award cycle. This award makes it possible for us to cover additional pier rebuild expenses incurred that are beyond the structure itself.
