To help build self-esteem and self-confidence by providing waterfront access and instruction in science, sailing and boating without regard to financial status.- To enrich the existing science and engineering curriculum at local public schools and enhance learning opportunities for students by providing access to STEM-focused experiential education activities and programs.
- To open windows onto career opportunities in the fields of Marine Science, Maritime Engineering, and Environmental Studies by leveraging the region’s professional business and non-profit assets.
- To encourage the responsible use and long term stewardship of the ocean and its resources by cultivating a greater understanding and appreciation of the coastal marine environment.
- To foster the preservation of our maritime heritage by teaching traditional skills and promoting multiple aspects of the working waterfront and instilling an appreciation for maritime art and history.
