This summer the Boothbay Sea and Science Center partnered with the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens on an experiential shoreside program that helped students ages 9 – 13 gain a better understanding of the differences and similarities that exist between the Back River and the Damariscotta River. Lead by BSSC Science Instructors Chloe Shader and TJ Guercio (students at Colby College), the class used scientific instruments to compare and contrast water and plant samples collected from each river. The four-day program concluded at BSSC with CMBG and BSSC students sharing their findings and making recommendations for future study.
