We’re thrilled to be celebrating 10 years of sea and science programming in 2022! Organized in 2012, we opened our doors in June of 2013 and since that time, welcomed more than 200+ youth ages 5 – 17 from all over the world. BSSC is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors that hail from Boothbay, East Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Edgecomb. A nonprofit organization, BSSC is built on collaborations with businesses and other non-profit organizations that include, but not limited to Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, Bristol Marine at the Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor, Nathaniel S, Wilson Sailmaker, Washburn & Doughty, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Ocean Point Marina, Department of Marine Resources, Keepers of Burnt Island Light, Down East Gallery, Southport Island Marine, Hodgdon Yachts, Maine Maritime Museum, University of New England, Maine Maritime Academy, Coastal Enterprises, Inc., Lincoln County Regional Planning, SCORE, and Bowdoin College … to name a few.
